Geomen Liu founded Transworld Construction in 1978. Since that time, the company has grown to become one of the premiere minority general contractors in Northern California.
As a full-service general construction service, Transworld Construction serves commercial and institutional clients on projects ranging from corporate offices to hospitals. Our public work projects include police and fire stations.

Every project undertaken by Transworld Construction includes the direct involvement of company Founder and President Geomen Liu, ensuring that our own high standard for quality and client service is maintained. Liu is also the Founder of Asian American Contractor’s Association. Our commitment to excellence has included successful projects such as rehabilitation and seismic upgrades of occupied residential housing projects and new affordable housing for various non-profit organizations.

Our Commitment to Diversity
There is a strong commitment at Transworld Construction to diversity in the workplace as well as on our projects as well. As a result, Transworld Construction takes significant effort to provide minority and women-based firms with subcontracting and other opportunities for all of our projects. One of the steps that Transworld Construction routinely takes is soliciting MBE/WBE bids in an effort to increase the diversity on our client’s work sites. In fact, we abide by this practice even when it is not specifically required.
We have taken numerous steps towards increasing workplace diversity. Our MBE/WBE Outreach Program looks to stimulate a more diverse workplace and job sites in a variety of ways. We maintain a current database of qualified subcontractors and suppliers and also encourage non-minority bidders to include minority firms as suppliers or second tier subcontractors in their proposals.
Additionally, we use workshops to help instruct minority-owned and women-owned firms with project introduction, bid package identification and preparation and prequalification. Our outreach to MBE and WBE subcontractors includes advertisements in construction and trade-related newspapers and postings on bulletin boards. We frequently attend of trade fairs that promote diversity in order to meet and recruit new MBE/WBE suppliers. Ultimately, Transworld Construction is dedicated to workplace diversity and diversity on our client’s work site as well.
In short, Transworld Construction has been extremely successful in meeting all public agency requirements for MBE, WBE, DBE, LBE and DVBE.
